Meghan and Sean Hook today celebrate their first anniversary. The bride, the former Meghan Gleason, and groom, Sean Hook, were married June 7, 2008, at Kinloch Farm, a small bed-and-breakfast in Caret, Va.
Meghan is the daughter of Michael and Peggy Gleason of Spotsylvania County. Sean is the son of Janice Gochnour of Salisbury, Md., and Craig and Cherrie Hook of Woodbridge. The ceremony took place in a small tree grove and was officiated by Hank Verinder, owner of Kinloch Farm.
The bride's sisters, Brittany and Caitlin Gleason, were the maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Deserae Shelton and Meghan Gillingham. Flower girls were Makinzee Sanders and Adrianna Depollo. The groom's best friend Stephen Davidson and cousin Nick Bruce served as best men. Groomsmen were Matthew Caram and Curtis Caram, brothers of the groom. Mila Simon, nephew of the bride and groom, served as junior groomsman.
The reception was also held at Kinloch Farm overlooking a small pond and fields spreading all around. Dancing continued until the very end, when the bride and groom left under a sea of glow sticks held by their friends and family.
The couple honeymooned on a cruise throughout the exotic Eastern Caribbean.
Meghan and Sean met at Courtland High School, from which Meghan graduated in 2002 and Sean in 2003, and became friends before Sean joined the Marine Corps and Meghan went off to college.
The Hooks now live in Fredericksburg. Sean is a security officer at the Department of State in Washington, D.C. Meghan, a 2006 graduate of the College of William & Mary, is currently a claims adjuster at Geico in Fredericksburg.
