Christy Marie Cockrill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Rose Sr. of Falmouth, and Christopher Kent Swann Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Kent Swann Sr. of Fredericksburg, were joined in marriage on June 20, 2009, at an outdoor ceremony at the Inn at Kelly's Ford in Remington, Va. Pastor Scott Covington, of Berea Baptist Church, officiated the ceremony with 140 of the couple's closest family and friends there to celebrate their special day. The bride arrived at the ceremony with her father in a horse-drawn carriage and presented her mother with a part of her bouquet as she walked down the aisle. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The bride carried a family heirloom handkerchief borrowed from her cousin. The couple wrote their own vows. "I Loved Her First" by Heartland was performed by the bride's father at the beginning of the ceremony.

The bridesmaids were Ms. Krista Haughton of Stafford, Ms. Shaneil Taylor of Spotsylvania, Mrs. Cindy Ploss of Stafford, and Mrs. Erica Minx, the bride's cousin, of Spotsylvania. Miss Makayla Woolner, the bride's niece, and Miss Allyson Swann, the groom's niece, served as flower girls and released butterflies during the ceremony.

Mr. Hubert Chase of King George served as the best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Larry Acker of Stafford; Mr. Bryan Woolner of Stafford, the bride's brother-in-law; Mr. Joel Rose Jr. of Stafford, the bride's brother; and Mr. Billy Saylor of Gainesville, Va. Mr. Jacob Woolner, nephew of the bride, served as the ring bearer and performed a special poem during the ceremony. Mr. Troy Cole and Mr. James Ploss served as ushers. A special reading was performed by Mr. Mark Sheppard, a friend of the couple.

The reception was held at Ripley Hall on the grounds of The Inn at Kelly's Ford.

The bride graduated from University of Mary Washington with a bachelor's degree in Professional Studies with a concentration in Leadership and Management. The groom graduated from The American Military University with a bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies and is currently working towards his MBA from American Military University.
