A Caroline County man yesterday confirmed what a videotape had already shown--he had sex with his dog.
David L. Lee, 33, pleaded guilty yesterday to carnal knowledge of an animal. He also pleaded guilty to two other felony charges, possession of cocaine and distributing more than five pounds of marijuana.
Lee will be sentenced June 6 in Caroline Circuit Court. The charge involving the dog carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
The tape of Lee and his beagle was discovered at his home on McBryant Road in Ruther Glen Sept. 11 after police went there to search for drugs. Lee apparently made the tape himself.
They found more than 81 ounces of marijuana and 9.55 grams of crack cocaine, Commonwealth's Attorney Harvey Latney said, along with guns and cash. They also found the bizarre tape featuring Lee and the male dog.
According to the evidence, Lee's troubles started when a woman who claimed to be from an escort service told police that Lee had assaulted her during her visit to his home.
The woman told police that Lee became upset because he "wanted more than just someone to talk to" while his wife was away for a few days.
The woman also told authorities she'd seen drugs at the home, and a search warrant was later obtained.
Caroline Sheriff Homer Johnson said at the time that a regional drug task force had been investigating alleged drug activity at the Lee home for more than a year.
But it wasn't until officers interviewed the escort that they got the information they needed for the search warrant.
Lee was in the shower when task-force officers showed up. His wife and a child were also there.
A weapons charge against Lee was dropped yesterday.
