Mrs. Bancroft was the mother of Sally Jane Canavan of Culpeper and the grandmother of Kim Canavan of Fredericksburg.
She died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
A retired home economics teacher, she was the widow of Howard W. Bancroft.
Besides her daughter and granddaughter, she is survived by another daughter; four other grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
