A Chantilly man preparing his summer camp site for the warmer weather ahead was shocked to find a dead body yesterday afternoon.
The man was doing a bit of "spring cleaning" at his Indian Acres property when he lifted the tarp off his golf cart he found the body of man believed to be in his late 30's or early 40's.
Spotsylvania Sheriff's Major Howard Smith says the deceased "appeared to be of Guatemalan descent."
Smith says there are no apparent wounds on the body, which had been there about three weeks.
The body has been sent to the medical examiner's office in Richmond.
Smith says there was a wallet on the body, but no identification. However, they did find some phone numbers and are checking those numbers and following up on missing person reports.
