Campbell's wife Ruth says she's thrilled and that all of their family and friends knew Anthony has what it takes. She says his actually sister pushed him into it and told him she wasn't leaving the house until he recorded an audition tape.
The Campbells head to New York City on Thursday. Anthony will appear on the Today Show Friday and again Monday. If America likes him, he'll be back week after week to perform on national TV until he is either eliminated or wins. Votes are taken over the Internet and the winner gets a record deal.
