A 25-year-old paraplegic from Spotsylvania tore through downtown Fredericksburg Sunday night and left a swath of destruction behind him, police say.
Fredericksburg Police spokesman Jim Shelhorse says the driver of the specially equipped gray Toyota SUV is Travis Younts.
Shelhorse says Younts had a "wild ride" through the city that took him down two one-way streets, traveling in the wrong direction. Witnesses also say Younts drove on the sidewalk.
Shelhorse says Younts hit a pedestrian, four cars, an awning on a restaurant, a street sign and the large, brick Masonic Lodge.
Shelhorse says Younts was "considerably" over the legal drinking limit and later told police he only remembered hitting one car.
He is charged with DUI and felony hit and run.
