Ecological treasures like Crow's Nest must be saved

The editorial from the Jan. 13 paper headlined "Lost world" did an excellent job explaining the ecological importance of Stafford County's Crow's Nest area.

Home to virgin stands of forest and rare plants and animals, Crow's Nest is indeed a natural treasure. I was disappointed when I found out that the tremendous efforts of those who have worked hard to establish a nature preserve at Crow's Nest have been undermined by K&M Properties of McLean.

Landowners, developers, and property owners alike need to realize the importance of preserving ecological treasures such as Crow's Nest and put forth more effort into conserving Virginia's natural treasures.
