Spring is just around the corner and organizers of the annual Cystic Fibrosis walk in Fredericksburg are finalizing plans.
This year's fundraising event for Cystic Fibrosis is set for Sunday afternoon, May 16th. It's a six-mile walk starting from Old Mill Park, with participants looping through downtown Fredericksburg.
Among those involved is Spotsylvania resident Colleen Miller, who's 7-year old son Scott has CF. Miller has raised more than $15,000 in the past two years.
Coleen Miller says "these children have really, really difficult lives and they deserve better." She adds "the only way we can give them a better life is to help find a cure."
Scott Miller is one of several children in the local area with CF.
Money raised from the May walk goes to research to try and find a cure for the deadly genetic lung disease.
