Police have reported no activity on Behl's cell phone. Date published: 9/14/2005 RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The mother of a missing Virginia Commonwealth University student says her daughter was not likely "to run off" and is appealing for the teenager's return. Janet Pelasara of Vienna appeared on NBC's "Today" this morning to talk about the disappearance of 17-year-old Taylor Behl. Behl has been missing for nine days. She left her dormitory room at about 10:30 p.m. on Labor Day. Pelasara says it doesn't make sense that her daughter would "run off" without her purse or without taking extra clothes. Police have reported NO activity on Behl's cell phone, and her mother said she had no credit cards, contrary to previous reports. Her white 1997 Ford Escort also is missing. University authorities have issued a national alert and called in assistance from the Richmond Police Department and the FBI. VCU police chief Willie Fuller says officers are looking "at every possibility" to return Behl safely.
