CD Name: "Bayside"

Artist/band: Bayside

Record company: Victory Records

Other CDs by artist: "Sirens and Condolences"

Best-known song: "Devotion and Desire"

Set this song on repeat: "Tortures of the Damned"

Best song you haven't heard on the radio: "Devotion and Desire," which is not on the radio because it is too overshadowed by the work of bands like Disturbed and The Killers.

Song that should've been left off the CD: Corny as it sounds, I would not eliminate any of them.

Favorite lyrics: "I hate myself more than I ever let on/ I'm burned out at 22" and "If I only had an axe, I'd sever the ties I've made with the world" from "Tortures of the Damned."

Sounds like: Bayside, unlike other groups, has a certain emotion and love for the music. In all of the group's songs, you can hear the love for what the band members are doing. The lead singer, Anthony Raneri, has one of those special voices that is even better live than on CD.

Afterthoughts: On Halloween, Bayside's tour van skidded on a patch of ice and flipped, killing drummer John Beatz and injuring bassist Nick Ghanbarian. After this, the lead singer and lead guitarist finished the tour with an acoustic stage in honor of Beatz.

Rating: Buy it today.
