Bottoms-Wimer
Sandra Kay "Sandy" Bottoms-Wimer, 41, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, after a lengthy and valiant battle with lung cancer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Alton Bottoms, and her oldest sister, Bonnie Lee Rash-Rainey.
Sandy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 16 years, Ted; her loving and cherished mother, Goldie M. Bottoms; her loving and dedicated sister, Linda A. Rash; her two beloved daughters, Ashley Nicole and Shelby Rene; and numerous friends.
Sandy was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Her laughter and sense of humor will never be forgotten. "Girlfriend" was her favorite word.
Sandy leaves behind a legacy of courage and faith. Even in her darkest hours, she was an inspiration to those who knew her. Although she was prepared to depart this world, she did so reluctantly because of her love for her husband, mother, children and sister. It was this love that gave her the strength to endure all the suffering of her illness. When Sandy's journey ended and the angels came to take her home, she was surrounded by her loved ones.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Pastor Keith Robinson of Mountain View Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bowling Green.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home.
