Baker, Lee selected to All-CAC teams

Mary Washington men's basketball teammates Justin Baker and Mike Lee received all-conference honors Monday.
Baker, a sophomore, was selected to the first team of the All-Capital Athletic Conference men's basketball team while Lee, a junior, was named to the second team.
Baker started all 25 games for the Eagles, compiling team-leading totals for points (18.6 per game) and rebounds (180). He was also second on the team with 90 assists and 28 steals.
Lee, who holds several school records, also started every game for UMW. He lead the squad in minutes played (37.1 per game), assists (93) and steals (47). Lee' s honor added to his first-team all-conference selection during the 2004-05 season.
The two helped lead the Eagles, who fell in the CAC semifinals to eventual tournament champions Catholic, to a 15-10 overall (9-5 CAC) record.
EQUESTRIAN
Sophomore Erin Richardson was named the high point rider for the show, as the University of Mary Washington equestrian team took first place in its annual show at Hazelwild Farm on Sunday.
Richardson finished first in her class in intermediate flat and and intermediate over fences. Other UMW class winners included Ann C. Leins in open flat, Jessica van Brocklin in open fences, Bradley Bounds in intermediate flat, Stephanie Rzepka in novice flat, and Stephanie Kulakowski in advanced walk-trot-canter.
UMW finished two points ahead of second-place Sweet Briar College. The team will next compete on March 19 at the College of William and Mary.
TRACK AND FIELD
UMW's Matt Heidman set a school record in the 60-meter hurdles (8.97 seconds) at the George Mason University Invitational on Sunday.
Justin Kirk was second in the 3000 meters (8:57.2) and James Eberhardt was fifth in the shot put (45-1). Other top efforts for the Eagle men included Justin German in the high jump (6-3) and 400 meters (51.82); Cameron Rice in 400 in 51.61.
For the women, Allison Hazlett finished fourth in the 3,000 (10:41.59) and Cristy Falcone was fourth in the mile, at 5:28.
MEN'S TENNIS
Twelfth-ranked UMW dropped a 4-3 decision to Washington University, but rebounded for a 4-3 win over Longwood Sunday at the University Tennis Center.
The Eagles (3-1) next play in California on March 5 at Chapman and Occidental.
