Keep your nose out of hotel rooms, Free Lance-Star

You people at The Free Lance-Star amaze me. I always thought you were a bunch of meddlers in local politics, and now you're telling the Fredericksburg City Council to pass a resolution regarding the types of movies guests might choose to watch at the new (private) downtown Marriott hotel ["Porno-nomics," May 25].
Who do you think you are?
Your editorial was as offensive and sexist as the porn you claim to object to.
One would think after reading the editorial that every man alive has some kind of uncontrollable urge toward sexual deviance and is only one porn flick away from self-destruction.
If the City Council is going to ban X-rated movies, they'd better ban the Internet and HBO, too.
What about nudity and sexual situations in the lineup of PG-13 and R-rated movies? Ozzie and Harriet would die of embarrassment over the smut on modern prime-time TV, so they'd better ban local network channels, too.
Maybe they should search all luggage at check-in to seize all Playboys and Sports Illustrated swimsuit editions.
Where does it end?
I've got a better idea: Let's censor some of your paper's editorials that suggest taking away a red-blooded American's freedom of choice.
What someone does legally in the privacy of his own hotel room is his business.
You have a choice to not watch porn. So do I.
Don't like porn? Don't watch it. Works for me.
