The Route 1 corridor from the Falmouth Bridge all the way to Stafford Courthouse will be in for a major face lift.
Stafford Economic Development Director Tim Baroody says the Board of Supervisors has given a unanimous nod to hiring
a new full-time county employee to focus on redevelopment in the area. He says Route 1 is important and will help
support Stafford's future growth. That includes; Stafford Courthouse, Boswell's Corner, Falmouth and even Route
17.
The position will combine knowledge of infrastructure, zoning and utilities with the ability to strategize and work
with outside contractors. Though there is no word yet on which department will fund the position, they hope to have
it filled by January of 2007.
