Germanna professor gets honor

Germanna professor wins statewide award

Date published: 2/10/2007

BY JENN ROWELL

Gov. Tim Kaine has selected a professor at Germanna Community College to receive an Outstanding Faculty Award.

The governor chose 12 winners from 95 nominees. Dr. Patti Lisk, a nursing professor, is among them.

The recipients were chosen for their "excellence in teaching, research, knowledge integration and public service," according to a press release from the Kaine's office.

The award is the state's highest honor for faculty members. They are administered by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, according to the release.

The awards are funded by a grant from the Dominion Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dominion.

Each award recipient is given $5,000 and an original glass sculpture designed by Virginia artist Jude Schlotzhauer.

Nurses always come through! (posted by bmm3571 , Sep. 25, 2007 2:41 pm)
That was fantastic news about the nursing professor. As a fellow nurse, her dedication to student growth is probably self-evident. Congratulations! Brendan Mahoney, R.N.
