SLURP IT UP: Seafood lovers dig in at last year's oyster roast at White Oak Equipment in Stafford County. This year's 23rd annual event, featuring fried and steamed oysters, hot dogs, coleslaw, desserts and soft drinks, will take place Saturday. Donations will be accepted, and proceeds will benefit Billy Greer, who has metastatic osteosarcoma.
THEY'VE GOT SPIRIT: 'Elijah's Heavenly Whirlwind' by Ruth Ann Loving is part of the 'Exploring Spirituality' exhibit on view this month at the Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts. The gallery will host a First Friday opening exhibit tomorrow from 6 to 8:30 p.m. See the art exhibits listings on Page 21 to find out which other downtown galleries are planning opening receptions to introduce new exhibits.
