The State Corporation Commission is extending the deadline for written comments about a controversial transmission line project in Stafford County.
Dominion Virginia Power plans to build a 230-kilovolt power line between U.S. 1 and a proposed substation near Garrisonville Road.
Affected residents criticized the original overhead-line project during public hearings in January and February.
Dominion later amended its SCC application to include proposals for an underground line.
As a result the SCC is extending its deadline for written comments on the application until May 31.
Correspondence should be sent to the Clerk of the State Corporation Commission, Document Control Center, Box 2118, Richmond, Virginia 23218-2118, and refer to case number PUE-2006-00091.
Comments can also be submitted online at scc.vir ginia.gov/caseinfo.htm.
The evidentiary case in Richmond was also postponed to July 11.
