The recent WFLS Children's Miracle Network Radiothon was a success. It raised listeners' attention to medical conditions such as cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, and spina bifida.
Many good-hearted, generous souls were touched by its message and gave of their time, talent, and treasure.
Yet radiothons like this highlight the need for health-care reform in this country. Most of the money raised will go into insurance companies' bulging pockets. Any health-care system that charges $6 for a cotton ball is ailing and needs to be healed.
