Mosaic mural under way

Date published: 6/19/2007

In yesterday's heat, a mosaic mural designed to promote diversity and understanding began taking shape on the back of a warehouse at Roxbury Farm and Garden Center.

Since February, nine students and two adult coordinators have been building pieces of the mural indoors. This week, volunteers are encouraged to stop by and become part of the project, sponsored by MORE (Multicultural OutReach Effort).

"I love seeing so many people working on this right now," said coordinator Andrea Shreve Taylor.

The artists will be on site from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. all week, and volunteers are encouraged. Find information at morefredericksburg.org.
