Clad in spandex boxers, Chris Cooley calmly signs autographs following Saturday's practice session. |
DEAR REDSKINS fans,
Ever have that
Anyway, for Redskins tight end Chris Cooley and wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, it's all quite real. For some reason, the two prefer to practice in their spandex-style boxers instead of their long, curtain-like mesh shorts. They even roll them up when practice starts.
Cooley and Lloyd have been doing this for a while, and it draws all kinds of comments from the fans, like, "Those dudes aren't wearing any shorts!"
But I'm not concerned about Cooley and Lloyd and their attention-seeking style. I'm concerned about the defensive backs that have to play against them.
"I don't know whether
I asked Carlos what his friends back home would say if they saw him tackling Cooley. I mean, that can't be good for street cred.
"We always give each other a hard time about everything back home," Rogers said, "so imagine if they catch me tackling somebody with no shorts on."
Maybe it should be called under-where instead of underwear, as in, it should be under where your shorts are. But Cooley and Lloyd don't seem fazed.
Now we'll have to see if this unusual fashion trend catches on. Hopefully it will be brief, pun intended. But Redskins fans love to be like their Redskins. So if Jimmy in the next cubicle down from you is pant-less this morning, at least you'll know you share a favorite football team.
Will write more soon,
