We soldiers in Iraq value community support
Date published: 9/15/2007
I wanted to take this opportunity to send my heartfelt appreciation back home as I complete my 15-month tour in Iraq next month.
I've received tremendous support from family and friends, as well as several organizations--most notably the American Red Cross, the Spotsylvania High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, the faculty and students of Gayle Middle School in Stafford County, and St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Fredericksburg.
To the wonderful people who donated items to these organizations, thank you! Your generosity is greatly appreciated by the men and women now serving in Iraq.
Community support for those deployed and our families back home is one of the strengths of our nation, and I continue to serve proudly as an American soldier.
