Scooter Ritchie

Glenn Carroll "Scooter" Ritchie, 45, of Bealeton died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

He was born June 26, 1962, in Warrenton, a son of Jean Wilkins Dunn of Woodstock and the late Calvin L. "Boots" Ritchie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Ritchie.

Scooter was a farmer at the family property, Inglewood Farm, at Bealeton. He was a charter member of the Lois Volunteer Fire Department.

Scooter loved the outdoors, particularly hunting and farming. He took pride in all of his projects. Scooter will be remembered as an organ donor at the time of his death.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Danielee O. Ritchie; his children, Jason Ritchie of Locust Grove, Amanda Ritchie of Lynchburg, Jolene Adams of Maine, Corene Miles of Colorado and Stephen Miles of Bealeton; his stepmother, Gail Ritchie of Bealeton; two sisters, Jennifer Krick of Bealeton and Helen Ritchie of Woodstock; two brothers, the Rev. Rick Ritchie of Bealeton and Bill Ritchie of Bealeton; six grandchildren, Hailey Ritchie, Emily and John Miles-Wilkinson, Eddie and Bryce Adams and Sammy Luce.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Lake Ritchie Pavilion at Inglewood Farm, Bealeton, by the Rev. Rick Ritchie and the Rev. M. Peyton Embrey. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lois Volunteer Fire Company, Box 137, Bealeton, Va. 22712; or to Remington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, Box 159, Remington, Va. 22734.
