Jonathan C. Chapman

Jonathan C. Chapman, 16-year-old son of Lisa Chapman of LaPlata, Md., and Leonard Hardy of Upper Marlboro, Md., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, as the result of an auto accident.

Jonathan was a junior at LaPlata High School, where he was a member of the basketball team.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Christopher Chapman of LaPlata; his maternal grandparents, John and Blanche Chapman of Fort Washington, Md.; and his maternal great-grandmothers, Sadie Bland of King George County and Margaret Chapman of Waldorf, Md.

A funeral will be held at noon Monday, Nov. 12, at Fort Foote Baptist Church in Fort Washington, with the Rev. Joseph Llyes officiating. Burial will be in Little Ark Baptist Church cemetery in Owens.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the family receiving friends until 8 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the church.
