Forgit has real experience in Iraq

Philip Forgit represents our best choice for the 1st District congressional seat. Philip brings a perspective that is in short supply in Congress, that of experience on the ground in Iraq doing the hard work of transition.

He served with a Naval Special Warfare Unit as an advisor to the Iraqi army in 2005-2006. He trained Iraqis to replace American workers, a job he performed with distinction.

A Naval Reservist, Philip was mobilized from his former job as a fourth-grade teacher at Rawls Byrd Elementary in Williamsburg. After deployment, he received national recognition for his work as an educator.

Philip has reached out to the military community and assembled a strong team experienced in the BRAC process to protect military jobs in the 1st District.

He will be a strong advocate for the families of our enlisted troops and reservists while they are away. He will also fight to restore the benefits and services we all know our returning veterans deserve.

Philip Forgit will fight to protect the Chesapeake Bay and its watersheds. He will work to ensure a quality education and affordable health care for our children.

Philip does an outstanding job in everything he tackles. Let's see what someone with this commitment to service can do for us in Washington. Vote for Philip Forgit on Dec. 11.

Hypocracy (posted by winwood , Dec. 5, 2007 3:28 pm)
Hmmmmmm..... Sent by someone titled "The_COMMANDER". Humble military member or grandstanding politician ?????

Yet again....... (posted by The_COMMANDER , Dec. 5, 2007 11:08 am)
As a military man myself, I respect nothing more than Iraq service. But I lose respect anytime I see somebody advertise that they "served with a Special Forces Unit". Was he a SEAL or not?? If he served in a support capacity, as a supply officer, admin, etc. then why not just say so? In this area, this nuance is very important. It draws the line between the humble military members and the grandstanding politicians who use their service as a "check in the box" on their way to office. Was he a SEAL????

Good Letter (posted by rrwwsmith , Dec. 5, 2007 7:22 am)
Mr. Forgit has my vote. Time is right for a change in Washington. Bush and Company are breaking the bank with this endless war in Iraq. Our public debt is now 9.2 Trillion dollars and rising every minute. We pay over 400 Billion dollars in interest every year on this debt. The "Torture President" is neither compassionate nor conservative. Both he and his enablers must go.
