It's a simple choice: Vote for Phil Forgit
There will be an election in the 1st congressional district on Dec. 11. The time is very short, and the candidates have had little time to get their messages out to the voters.
Actually, the choice is a simple one. The Democrat is Phil Forgit. He is an Iraq veteran and, as a member of the majority, he will have the attention of the members of his party. There are very few, if any, members with his firsthand experience. Additionally, he is an award-winning schoolteacher. Again, his experiences will be welcomed.
His opponent, Rob Wittman, is a member of the minority. He's made many campaign promises that show he is naive and ignorant of the workings of Congress. His promise to "change Congress" is impossible.
Phil Forgit is the only choice. We must have a responsible representative who can work for the citizens of the 1st district--not a minority member who can be nothing more than a "rubber stamp."
