I appreciate Milde's leadership on saving Crow's Nest

Paul Milde has shown great leadership in the Aquia District of Stafford. I had a great deal of concern with the county going to the expense of buying Crow's Nest. Let's face it, our taxes in Stafford are high enough.

When I called to raise my concerns, Mr. Milde took the time to explain to me what this really meant to the taxpayers of Stafford County.

By it not being developed, there are no additional schoolchildren who would have to be bused down very narrow roads.

The purchase of Crow's Nest is being done through a grant that will not have to be repaid, and the loan is at an interest rate and long term that has a minimal impact to the tax rate.

The best part is that Mr. Milde has negotiated a two-year option to purchase the rest of the land on Crow's Nest. I really appreciate that they did not obligate the county to all of the expense up front.

I am impressed with Mr. Milde's ability to accomplish what he has set out to do--preserve the Crow's Nest--and not place additional burdens on the taxpayer.

I thank him for not only leading the charge to save Crow's Nest but for listening to and addressing my concerns.
