I want to thank W.C. Spratt Inc. and the 15 or so employees who helped me and several others out of a very difficult situation on Thursday, Jan. 17.
The snow had just started to fall, and the roads were extremely slick. Almost everyone who tried to navigate the steep portion of Leavells Road near Mill Garden South slid off the road and into the culvert, into yards and mailboxes, or into other vehicles.
I slid into the culvert and faced the almost certain possibility of getting hit by other vehicles sliding into me. The guys from W.C. Spratt saw the situation, went up and down Leavells Road, and got each person out of their unfortunate situations, one at a time, and would accept no payment for doing so.
I would also like to give a special "thank you" to the "cavalry" in the red Jeep for using his winch to help me out of the culvert. Such people are a huge asset to our community and deserve to be commended.
