National Guard medical unit training with EMS

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - About 20 soldiers with a Virginia
Army National Guard medical unit headquartered in Charlottesville
are conducting medical training this weekend.
The training includes ambulance ride-alongs on Saturday with the
Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad.
Besides the EMS ride-alongs, Charlie Company medics can take
part in Emergency Department rotations at the University of
Virginia Hospital.
According to the Virginia National Guard, Charlie Company
provides medical care to all units in the 116th Infantry Brigade
Combat Team and units that serve in their area of operations.
They also are trained to work with local health workers to
provide medical care during critical incidents in Virginia.
