Walter H. Seay

Walter H. "Walt" Seay, 62, a resident of Magnolia, Texas, for eight years, passed into the loving arms of our Lord Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at St. Luke's Community Medical Center in The Woodlands, Texas.

He was born Jan. 5, 1946, at home in Spotsylvania County to the late Lynwood D. and Alfreda A. Seay. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7103 in Athens, Texas. He was a member of I.O.O.F. and was an active volunteer for the Conroe Food Pantry. Walt was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed NASCAR, and was known for his barbecuing. He was thoroughly dedicated to his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by his brother, Monty Warren Seay; and a cousin, Jerry Massey.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 42 years, Sandy; sons, Walter H. Seay Jr. and his wife, Donna, Walter H. Seay III and John McInroe and his wife, Jessica; daughters, Sandy Ledbetter and his husband, John; and Christina Seay; grandchildren, Chelsea, Luke, Cody and Colton; and cousins, Iris Deale, Jennings Simms and Brenda Sullivan.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Spotsylvania Chapel. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, at the funeral home with the Rev. Wilbur Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Seay family cemetery. The family will have a reception at the home of Walt's special cousin, Pansy Massey. The family would like to acknowledge his very special friend, Harold Doty.
