Blame high oil prices in part on Congress
I found it kind of interesting that Congress brought in the executives of the big oil companies to explain how they justify their profits when the price of gas is so high and becoming more and more of a burden on citizens ["Oil companies defend their billions in profits," April 2].
But Congress itself has just as much to answer for, because it is at least as much a part of the problem as the oil companies because of the restrictions it has placed on the development and refining of oil.
Maybe it's time that Congress listen to the silent majority, rather than the radical environmentalists, and ease up on legislation that restricts and/or prohibits drilling offshore and in Alaska, as well as restrictions on building refineries, not to mention nuclear power plants.
Perhaps if we got business and government to work together on solving the problem rather than placing blame, positive changes could be made.

You know people by their friends. So, I asked Vince Foster and he said Hilary was real good and getting things done. So, I asked Ron Brown and he said if his buddy Bill liked Hilary, then he had to too. So, I asked Big John, and he said ask Teddy. Teddy said Obama. So, I tried to ask the Rev Wright, but seems he's disappeared. So, I asked Algore, and he tried to sell me something called a carbon credit. I'm so confused.

should be required reading at your local high school. I gather from the level of venom that you are all adults, The kids would learn about the civil discourse among their elders and would gain new respect for their parents et al.
keep up the good work people, you are shining examples of what is good and great about America. Oh I forgot, you probably hate America too, not just each other.
I for one will let the spelling and grammar slide. FLS needs an "edit" function in here. I cannot take credit for making you look like a fool. You do a wonderful job on your own. Don't worry about the election thing. Howard Dean will make it all better for you. Isn't is amazing that everyone knows who the DNC chairman is, but hardly anyone has ever heard of Robert M. "Mike" Duncan? He's the RNC chairman. He's got an easy job this year: Watching the democrats disintegrate. Vote Hillary!
Every time I look at one of my posts and see all the typos and bad grammar, I think that I need to go back to school. Actually, a little proofreading might fit the bill.
Thanks for your patience.
