William J. Curtis

William Jennings Curtis, 82, of Sumerduck passed away, Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.

Mr. Curtis was born April 8, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Wade E. Curtis and Blanche Holmes Curtis. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a retired electrician.

Surviving Mr. Curtis is his wife, Marie Leona Curtis of Sumerduck; his children, Virginia Lee Bennett and her husband, Lester, of Remington, and William John Curtis and his wife, Gloria, of Sumerduck; his granddaughters, Jennifer Lee Curtis and Karen Ann Savage, both of Culpeper; his great-grandson, Ethan Savage of Culpeper; and his sister, Ethel White of Scottsdale, Ariz. Preceding Mr. Curtis in death were his parents and a brother Glenwood Curtis.

A graveside service was held Friday, April 11, at 2 p.m. in Sumerduck Baptist Church cemetery, 5189 Sumerduck Road, Sumerduck, with the Rev. Chaz Campbell conducting the service. The family received friends Thursday, April 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Va. 22701.
