Ambrose S. Conlon

Ambrose Sylvester Conlon Jr., 74, of Mineral died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Conlon was son of the late Ambrose S. and Lillian N. Conlon Sr. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Ann Conlon, and a son, Joseph Conlon.

Mr. Conlon was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, the VFW, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus and the Hibernians. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Mr. Conlon is survived by his wife, Ann Conlon; four sons, Mike Conlon and his wife, Pam, of Manassas, Patrick M Conlon and his wife, Connie, of Madison County, Robert J. Conlon of Bealeton and Bryant Conlon and his wife, Sandy, of Stafford County; one stepdaughter, Breena Jemison of Arlington; a sister, Lillian Conlon of Scranton, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Sean, Jason, Shane, Dana, Darcey, DeVonne, Krista, Meghan and Sarah; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral Mass, conducted by Father Michael Duffy, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 1937 Davis Highway, Mineral. Visitation will be held at St. Jude's Catholic Church from 2 to 4 p.m and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, with a rosary service at 8 pm. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, in Quantico National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
