Rep. Rob Wittman, the freshman 1st District Republican congressman, toured Fort A.P. Hill yesterday.
Wittman and three staff members were briefed by Base Commander Lt. Col. Michael Graese, and given a bus ride around the 76,000-acre Caroline County Army post.
"I spent many hours hunting here years ago. It's a great facility," Wittman said. A.P. Hill is one of the Army's premier training sites.
Wittman, a former Virginia delegate, won a special election last December to fill the seat of the late Rep. Jo Ann Davis, who died last fall of breast cancer.
