LOCALLY:

Guided Nature Tour, tomorrow, 2 p.m., Gari Melchers Home and Studio, Belmont, 224 Washington St., Falmouth. Members of the Central Rappahannock Chapter of the Virginia Naturalist program lead a free tour of the woods and fields the last Sunday of every month, starting at the visitor center. The walk covers about a mile of trails and will touch on the historic ruins. Sturdy footwear recommended; rain or shine; free, no reservations necessary. 540/654-1839.

"Weeding Out Cancer," today, 7 a.m.-2 p.m., Curves, Anna Point Marina, Mineral. The Central Virginia Master Gardeners have formed a team to walk in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. They will have a plant and yard sale to benefit this event, On Sunday, May 4, 1-4 p.m., at the Betty Queen Intergenerational Center. Dance lessons will be offered. $5 donation suggested.

"Water Gardening Bliss," today, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Palestine Farm, Ruther Glen. Sponsored by Germanna Community College. The next session will be "English Cottage Gardening," May 17, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Palestine Farm, The cost of the classes run $29 to $49 each. Registration is required. "Water Gardening and Cool Critters," Saturday, May 3, 9:30 a.m.-noon, Chatham Manor, 120 Chatham Lane, Stafford, part of the "First Saturdays in the Garden" series. Free and open to the public. Registration not required. Sponsored by National Park Service, Master Gardener Association of the Central Rappahannock Area and the Virginia Cooperative Extension. 540/658-8000. "Tree and Shrub Identification Series," Tuesdays, May 6-June 10, 9-11 a.m., Virginia Cooperative Extension-Stafford, Rowser Building, 1739 Jefferson Davis Highway.
