YMCA offers party and motorcycle ride
The Spotsylvania YMCA is sponsoring a "poker ride" and festival Memorial Day weekend to raise money for the Jay Massad Reach Out Support Fund, which pays for summer camp, swim lessons and after-school care for less fortunate children.
The Cruizin' for Kidz Motorcycle Rally and Festival starts at 10 a.m. May 24 at the Spotsylvania Y, 5700 Smith Station Road.
At noon, motorcyclists will drive out to Lake Anna and then head back to the Y, stopping along the way to pick up cards. Riders with the best poker hands at the end will receive prizes.
Family activities at the Y that day include a children's bicycle parade, a trail ride, a raffle and silent auction, vendors, a bake sale and an apple pie bake-off.
The festival, which is free and open to the public, continues until 3 p.m.
Riders pay $25 to enter, plus $10 per passenger. The fee includes lunch.
Sign-up forms are available at family-ymca.org or any YMCA location. Participants can also register between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. the day of the ride.
For more information, call 540/371-9622, ext. 5, or e-mail pgehring@family-ymca.org.
