William L. Mason

William L. "Bill" Mason, 77, of King George County died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Mary Washington Hospital.

He retired after 37 years from Safeway Stores. He was a deacon and trustee at Potomac Baptist Church, King George. He loved gardening, and was an avid Redskins fan.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda J. Mason; a daughter, Holly L. Hayden and husband, Matt, of King George; two sons, William L. Mason II and wife, Elaine, and Bryan L. Mason, both of King George; two brothers, Archie Mason of Dunlap, Tenn., and Edward Mason of Bealeton; five grandchildren, Chase Robinson, Skyler Robinson, Sarah Mason, Joshua Hayden and Kirsten Hayden. He was preceded in death by a son, Barry A. Mason, and his parents, Floyd D. and Sarah A. Mason.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Potomac Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Newton officiating. Burial will follow in Historyland Memorial Park, King George. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Potomac Baptist Church.
