Benefit show to give young riders needed experience

May 23, 2008 12:15 am

TOMORROW, Amber Hill Farm and Stab- les will host a special Benefit Open Horse Show. This show has been organized and sponsored by the Orange County Solids, Spots and Dots 4-H Horse Club as a fundraiser.

Not only is this a good way to raise money for the club activities (especially for the State Championship show in September), it is great way for riders to gain experience in the horse industry. The members of the Solids, Spots and Dots club will run the show, including the gate.

The judge for the Open Benefit show is Kristi Harcum (not a 4-H member). The show BHSA/VHSA recognized and will feature the Forrest Linton Memorial Classic. The show starts at 9 a.m.; fees are $10 per class, or $8 for 4-H members. There will be ribbons, prizes, trophies and High Point Pony and High Point Horse Awards.
