Outdoor rec items stolen at reservoir
Various equipment, including 22 life preservers, were stolen from Motts Run Reservoir this week.
Fredericksburg police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the theft occurred between 8 p.m. Sunday and 5:20 a.m. Monday.
Thirteen fishing rods, five tackle boxes, binoculars and digital scales were also taken, Bledsoe said. The neon orange life preservers have "Fredericksburg Parks and Rec" stamped on them.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call city police at 372-1055.
Debit card taken, used for purchases
A Vitamin World employee's missing debit card turned up right where she had left it--but not before someone used it to make multiple purchases, police said.
Fredericksburg police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the Central Park store employee got home Sunday evening and realized that her wallet was missing from her purse.
She checked with her bank and learned that six or seven unauthorized purchases had been made.
When she returned to the store, the wallet and card had been returned to its previous location under the register.
The investigation is continuing.
