Ladysmith Village is making music – with a message

Ladysmith Village will be hosting its first annual Ladysmith Village summer concert series—and it’s music with a cause. Several, actually.

“The concert series will be the entire summer and will feature local artists,” said Rob Wilson, a public relations coordinator for the event. “We are collaborating exclusively with a charity or non profit organization each month as well.”

This month, the band Back-N-Time, who play oldies rock with a mixture of Motown, will perform.

“We have a different variety of music each month that everyone in the family can enjoy,” said Michelle Partridge, the Newland Communities marketing director.

Next month, the band Milford Station will perform.

To end the series in August, Back to the Future, an ’80s rock band, will play.

All proceeds from this month’s event will go to Humane Society of Caroline County.

Homeowners of Ladysmith Village will get in for free, while everyone else will be $10 per ticket.

“You can purchase tickets at the Ladysmith Visitor’s center or you can purchase tickets the day of the concert,” Partridge said.

The concert will be located at the Ladysmith outdoor amphitheater.

“This is a ‘bring your lawn chair and your dancing shoes’ type of event,” Partridge said. “[The concert] is a great a way to give back to the community and county, and it’s great for people to come out for a great cause.”
