Spotsylvania Stars and Stripes Spectacular Beginning at 3 p.m. there will be music on three entertainment stages, children's games and activities, food and a spectacular fireworks display to end the event. July 1-4

Busch Gardens will fill the sky with a fireworks display for four nights including the Fourth of July. Single-day admission to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg is $56.95 for ages 10 and older, $49.95 for ages 3-9, under 2 free.

July 4

Independence Day Bazaar, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Colonial Beach. Yard sale, SpongeBob bounce, games and prizes, bake sale, food, DJ music, silent auction, fireworks. Starts at 8 a.m. 804/224-4065 or 804/214-9018.

Fourth of July at Mount Vernon, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., military re-enactments, musical performances. Admission is $13 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-11, children under 5 free. Mount Vernon is located at 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Mount Vernon. 703/799-5203

Heritage Festival's 5-k run. Registration will be 6:15-7:30 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center. Race begins at 7:45 a.m. on Caroline Street. 800/260-3646

Heritage Festival. Parade will travel through downtown Fredericksburg beginning at 9:30 a.m. More than 150 vendors will be featured in craft show beginning at 10 a.m. running until 4 p.m. Groups performing in the Bluemont music series will also be playing during this time. 540/371- 6005

Ferry Farm's Fabulous Fourth of July. George Washington will be on hand to greet visitors. Games, crafts, food, entertainment, and more. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is $1 ages 3 and up. Ferry Farm is located at 268 Kings Highway in Stafford. 540/370-0732

Independence Day Celebration, St. Peters Church/Water Street, Historic Port Royal. Colonial military living history, dancing, music, children's activities, reading of Declaration of Independence, carriage rides around town, food. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Free. 804/742-5036.

31st Annual River Raft Race. Race will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Falmouth Waterfront Park and conclude at Ccity Dock. Raft check-in and registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Day of event registration is $35 for an individual, $50 for a club or organization and $65 for commercial. 540/371- 6005
