Jessica M. Bungard

Jessica Morgan Bungard, 31, of Fredericksburg died in an accident Sunday, June 22, 2008, near her home.

Ms. Bungard was born June 19, 1977, in West Virginia, and was the daughter of John Bungard and Julianne Morgan-Bungard of Harrisonburg.

Jessica was married to John Cody Wilmer Oct. 20, 2007, who survives in Fredericksburg. She lived a life of no regrets and numerous accomplishments. She graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1995, the University of Virginia in 1999 and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2004. She was currently working as an attorney-advisor at the U.S. Department of Treasury, TTB in Washington, D.C., and had previously served as a special assistant attorney at the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Columbia.

She was a member and conductor of the Virginia Pep Band, was a member of the Friends of the Rappahanock, coached little league basketball and had recently become part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of Fredericksburg.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents is her sister, Nora Bungard of Charlottesville.

A nontraditional service will be held Saturday, June 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Harrisonburg.

Following the service, friends and family will honor and pay tribute to Jessica's life at the Elks Home. Details regarding the times will be available online at jessica- bungard.memory-of.com.

The family suggests that any desired memorial contributions be made to Teen Challenge of Fredericksburg, Box 5471, Fredericksburg, Va. 22403; to Friends of the Rappahanock, Box 7254, Fredericksburg, Va. 22404; or to a charity of choice.

Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg is handling arrangements.
