Garnet E. Burgess
Date published: 7/3/2008 Garnet E. Burgess Garnet Elizabeth Burgess, 89, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in Florence, S.C. She was the widow of Coy C. Burgess. "God saw her getting tired, a cure not meant to be. So he put his arms around her, and whispered, 'Come home with me.'" Mrs. Burgess is survived by her daughter, Barbara Henderson of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; and sons, Charles and David Burgess of Fredericksburg, and Kyle and William Burgess of Mullins, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Shelby Skaggs; sons Donald, Gary and Darrell Burgess; and grandson David E. Burgess Jr. preceded her in death. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 4, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.
