John A. Britton

John Alexander Britton III, 74, of Fredericksburg passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Mary Washington Hospital.

John was a cashier at Wal-Mart in Garrisonville, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 4 of Fredericksburg.

John is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Jenkins of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Barbara Sturgill of Fredericksburg; and four grandchildren, Leah, John, Amanda and Adam. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Britton, and his parents, John A. and Helen Britton.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, in Quantico National Cemetery.
