Joseph T. McCarty

Joseph T. McCarty, a resident of Rocky Point, N.Y., for 31 years, died Thursday, July 17, 2008.

He was born in New York City, March 11, 1929. Following his retirement and subsequent stroke, he moved to Locust Grove to be near his children.

He had retired from Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, N.Y., where he was a specifications engineer for 26 years.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carolyn of Locust Grove; his son Matthew and his wife, Peggy, and their children, Aidan and Ciara, of Vienna; his daughter, Colleen Mouer and her husband, Dan, of Woodbridge; and his son Michael and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Lauren and Kate, of Columbus, Ohio.

Services were private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Society would be appreciated.
