Frankie L. Walburn

Frankie Lee Walburn, 56, of Port Royal died tragically as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.

Born in LaGrange, Ga., Frank had worked for the town of Colonial Beach for 15 years as the trash truck driver, and at Spotsylvania Towne Centre in the maintenance department.

Frank leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Dorothy Walburn; his daughters, Lisa and Jennifer Walburn of Michigan and Renee Gibson of Detroit, Mich.; his sons, James Gibson and his wife, Chrissy, of Partlow, Darryl Gibson of the home, Kenneth Gibson and his wife, Jennifer, of Detroit, and Robert and Richard Gibson of Frederickburg; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cheryl Danfora of Colonial Beach; and his parents, Frank and Willabelle Walburn of Georgia.

The family will receive friends at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, on Friday, July 25, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral will be held Saturday, July 26, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery in Oak Grove.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Union Bank and Trust. Donations may be sent to the Frankie Lee Walburn Burial Fund, c/o James Gibson, Box 249, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.
