Ralph Nader will have my vote this fall
This is in response to Jori Byrne-Diakun's letter ["Spoiler again? Ralph Nader should not run," July 8].
If the writer truly feels similarly about many of the ills of American society" as does Mr. Nader, then she should not be maligning him but supporting his valiant effort to change the corrupt nature of American presidential politics.
Instead of being mocked and scorned, Ralph Nader should be admired for what he is: an average citizen fighting to change the world for the better.
What Ms. Byrne-Diakun obviously fails to realize is that voting for "the lesser of two evils" is still voting for evil (paraphrased from a quotation of Mr. Nader himself).
If a person feels that neither John McCain nor Barack Obama will make a suitable president, then voting for one of them based solely on his place in partisan politics is foolish and irresponsible.
When neither of the two main political candidates is satisfactory, it is up to us, the voters, to look elsewhere for someone worthy of the office of president.
If you're looking for a scapegoat to blame for George Bush's victories over Al Gore and John Kerry, don't blame Ralph Nader.
Blame the thousands of registered Democrats who can't be bothered to vote. Blame the Democratic National Committee for nominating candidates who are unable to garner enough support to defeat a disliked commander in chief.
But don't blame Ralph Nader for doing his duty as an American, for trying to give the power back to the people.
I will be voting for Ralph Nader this November because I don't want to waste my vote.

If you can look in the nooks and crannies you might be able to find out what the 2 major candidates really plan to do once elected. Having done that you might decide that one or the other is the lesser of 2 evils. Then vote for the lesser evil. No point in making a point, since no one cares about points and they benefit no-one.

I can only hope that our divided, distracted, diverted populace does something other than electing one of the corporate shills running, we’ve had 200 years to have a representative government, and still have a corporate power structure that has run us into the ditch YET AGAIN!
Lets do something different this time,
Vote Sanity, Vote Nader.

I cannot bring myself to vote for Obama, even though as a kid, I always thought a black president would be progress.
He started out being boosted last year by Brzezinski, a horrible pro-war, status quo Imperialist. Then he tricked people by implying he was not taking special interest money. He brushed the good things Trinity stood for under the rug. He misled people in his Iran speech not mentioning they were responding to Israel and US threats. The media is using the same Bush whitewashing. votenader
