Milo W. Christensen

Milo Westley Christensen, 84, of Sumerduck passed away at Inova Fairfax Hospital Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008.

Mr. Christensen was born in Clarks Grove, Minn., Oct. 21, 1923, to Hobert Christensen and Gertrude Paulson Christensen.

He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Marines in the Pacific Theater. He was a charter member of the Sumerduck Ruritan Club with 41 years of perfect attendance, was a member of the Miracle Tabernacle of God, loved gardening, farming, country-western gospel music and visiting the Marine Corps museum.

Surviving Mr. Christensen are his children, Caroline Christian and her husband, Carson, of Sumerduck, Jerry Christensen and his wife, Linda, of Culpeper, Dale Christensen and his wife, Carole, of Culpeper, and Milo G. Christensen and his wife, Pam, of Sumerduck; his grandchildren, Jeremy Christensen, Jarret Christian, Dale Christensen Jr., Steven Christensen, Mandi Christensen and Harley Christensen; two great-grandchildren, Karli and Savannah; his brothers, Robert Christensen of Reva and Ellsworth Christensen of Mississippi; and a special friend, Hazel Cooper. His wife, Geraldine B. Christensen, preceded him in death.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. at Sumerduck Baptist Church, with the Rev. K.C. Yonts conducting the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 25, at Clore-English Funeral Home, Culpeper, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sumerduck Ruritan Club, 4339 Sumerduck Road, Sumerduck, Va. 22742.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Va. 22701.
