Aspen Brooks is back again in Stephanie Hale's second novel, "Twisted Sisters." The sequel to Hale's "Revenge of the Homecoming Queen," this book is pretty good. It hooked me just like the first book, but could have been longer.
In "Sisters," Aspen is getting ready to go to Comfort State University, where she plans to spend time with her boyfriend, Rand.
Detective Harry Malone, whom fans of the first book will remember, is paying for Aspen to go to college. His niece, Mitzi, had mysteriously disappeared from the college the previous semester, while a member of the Zeta sorority.
Aspen decides to rush sororities, and is stuck between choosing the Zetas and the Betas. Her heart tells her to go with the Betas--but instead, she goes undercover and joins the Zeta sisters. However, Aspen's new sisters aren't about to give up any information.
The plot really doesn't catch up until almost the end of the book. Hale spends more time in the beginning focusing on Aspen and Rand's troubles seeing each other. She also introduces Rand's roommate, who turns out to be a psychotic stalker.
I would still recommend this book--even though it doesn' t measure up to its prequel.
