'Stay the course'? Vote for John McCain
If you want the war in Iraq to continue and have your loved ones die for nothing, vote for McCain.
If you want four more years of the Bush way, vote for McCain. If you want a continuation of one lie after another, vote for McCain.
If you want to "stay the course," vote for McCain. If you are anti-environment, vote for McCain. If you are for big business, vote for McCain.
Last year, McCain was a staunch supporter of the Republican way of life. Now that he knows the Democratic ideas are what the people want, he suddenly has become a Democrat in his views.
Remember, Bush said a lot and did nothing, and so will McCain, as he'll say anything these days just to get votes. McCain is a Republican pretending to be a Democrat in his views.
In November 2006, the American people defeated Republicans at all levels in a big way. In November 2008, it is time to do the same in even a bigger way.

1. Martial Law may be invoked by POTUS in case of a
"state of emergency" (like maybe a flood or aftermath of a
hurricane),then HR 6166 section 2 gives him power to lock
you up while he suspends your right of habeas corpus. 2.
HR 6166 section 8 gives immunity for (illegal) actions
between 9/11/01 and 12/30/05
Right On Mike!

You've hit the nail on the head. The only reason those who support McCain is because they are scared. Why else would they stay with a party who has done nothing but ruin the country for 8 years? Old is better than bold and new, hope is out in favor of the same old story.
McCain is Unstable; Palin is Unable.

I would suggest you read the actaul bill rather than wikopedia or wherever your getting your info. "including an American citizen" is a stretch. I for one, can not be designated an Enemy Combatant, legal or illegal because I have not demonstrated any hostilities towards the United States. It's not like the President or Secretary of State can take just "anyone" for no apparent reason and deem them an Enemy combatant. And lastly, point out the section about immunity for the officials.
McCain sold out on Sept 20,2006. I actually loved him before that day.

That's the day the Senate approved the Military
Commissions Act. That bill is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. It gives
the President the power to designate ANYONE he choses,
including an American citizen, as "an Enemy Combatant"
and ignore our most BASIC right of Habeas Corpus. But,
worse yet it grants retroactive immunity to high officials who
KNEW and ENCOURAGED war crimes. This Bill was passed
at the last second before Nov 2006 elections as
Republicans knew they were about to lose. McCain voted
FOR the WORST BILL EVER.
